Gran Sasso d’Italia
The Gran Sasso d'Italia is the highest mountain massif in the central Apennines, between the provinces of L'Aquila, Teramo and Pescara.
It is a protected area within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, with extremely rare and protected specimens of flora and fauna such as the Vipera Orsini and the Apennine Edelweiss.
The waters, which flow pure from the slopes of the mountains, feeding rivers and lakes, are a guarantee of health for nature.
For nature and sports lovers, it ensures hiking experiences of incomparable beauty. Only in Abruzzo you can stand over 2000 meters of the top at Campo Imperatore (also called little Tibet) in the morning and bathein the Adriatic sea the same day!
